Euro 2024 – Group Stage Preview
Germany are strongly fancied to claim top spot in Group A, while Switzerland and Hungary are expected to battle for the runners-up spot.
The hosts have underperformed at recent major tournaments but should step things up with a vociferous home crowd backing them.
Scotland will likely be out of their depth in this group and are expected to return home without collecting a point from any of their three games.
Group B is expected to be a two-way fight between Spain and Italy, while Croatia are a good bet to finish third ahead of Albania.
England are rated as one of the favourites to win the tournament, but they may find things tricky in a tough-looking Group C.
Denmark have the ability to upset the odds in this section, while it would be foolish to underestimate the threat posed by Serbia or Slovenia.
The Three Lions make limited appeal as a betting proposition and may struggle to progress much further than the round of 16 at Euro 2024.
France are nailed on to win Group D and could be the value bet to win the European title for the third time.
Les Bleus should have little difficulty finishing ahead of the Netherlands in their group and are strongly fancied to go all the way this summer.
Belgium are impossible to oppose in Group E and are another team which should make it through to the latter stages of the tournament.
Portugal are a banker bet to win Group E after sweeping through the qualification process. Several pundits have touted them as possible finalists.
