Widgets / API :: for Premiership and England data

We've decided to open up a couple of areas of our database as a free resource that can be used by bloggers and developers.

We've set up an API (an interface that can be used by other programmers), and widgets (similar to embedding youtube videos) onto the premiership data, and created a sort of mega-microsite on the England's International data.

There are two main areas:

The UK Premiership data
England's International data

The match widgets can be accessed by perusing the sites above... at the bottom of each match is a link that opens a widget generator like the one below:

To embed a widget in a blog, you need to click 'embed' at the top, then 'Other Sites'... then copy the code from there into your blog/site.

The widgets are currently just little match-reports, and look like this:

We can make up widgets displaying other data/information if requested.

These new sections are works in progress. We will need feedback from you with regards what works/doesn't, and how things can be improved etc.

So what would you find useful?

We have set up a forum for comments, suggestions and support.

(the forum has a separate login from the main site, so if you're interested you'll need to make up a new login and password)

The API documentation for developers is here

At this point we're slightly concerned about the shear size of the new pages, but we think they look quite cool - and they do give an idea as to the scope of this project... so that's the direction we've gone in. If we hear reports of browsers not being able to handle the page-size, then we'll need to think of something else.

So anyway. There it is.

What do you think?
